MC-538 OUR LADY OF LAKE TITICACA
Our Lady of Titicaca
This is a painting inspired by the ancient ikons of the “Protection of the Mother of God”. Mary and her Child are depicted as Inca Indians, symbolizing her loving protection of the people of the southern Andes. It represents a promise of prayer for them and a gesture of gratitude for a Maryknoll Missioner who shared their lives with the people of the Sierra, during a year of study and service. The original painting was given to them in the Prelature of Juli on December 8, 1987.
Painted by Sister Marie-Celeste, O.C.D.
